Introduction to agent skills

Introduction to agent skills teaches you how to build, configure, and share Skills in Claude Code—reusable markdown instructions that Claude automatically applies when they're relevant. You'll learn how to create your first Skill, how to scope and write instructions so they trigger at the right time, and how to distribute and troubleshoot Skills across your team.

The course is for developers and technical PMs who use Claude Code and want to customize and scale how their team works with it. It's self-paced and online on Anthropic Academy (Skilljar). You'll get a clear model of how Skills work under the hood, how to avoid common pitfalls (overly broad or narrow triggers, conflicting Skills), and how to version and share Skills so everyone benefits without chaos.

You'll leave able to design and maintain a small library of Skills that fit your stack and workflows, and to help others do the same. That's directly useful for standardizing best practices, onboarding new team members, and keeping Claude Code aligned with your product and engineering context. A natural next step after you're comfortable using Claude Code day to day.
