Overview

AI Strategy is a Reforge course for product and company leaders who need to rethink how their business competes as AI changes markets, customer expectations, technical possibilities, and execution speed at the same time. Ravi Mehta and Brian Balfour frame the problem as more than adding an AI feature to an existing roadmap. Incumbent advantages can erode quickly, customer problems are being reframed by new interfaces and capabilities, and technical choices can alter both cost structures and defensibility. The course provides a systematic way to connect those shifts instead of running separate market, product, and engineering conversations.

The curriculum moves through market strategy, customer problems, product strategy, technical strategy, and team execution. Its AI Strategy Compass helps leaders examine these dimensions as one system. You look at where AI changes the basis of competition, which customer needs remain durable, where product experiences need to be redesigned, and how model, data, infrastructure, and workflow choices shape the strategy you can realistically execute. Case material gives the frameworks an operating context, while the instructors' product and growth backgrounds keep the focus on choices and trade-offs rather than technology spectacle.

This course is aimed at senior PMs, product leaders, founders, and cross-functional executives responsible for an AI-era strategy. It is more advanced than a general “AI for product managers” introduction and assumes you can already reason about markets, positioning, product value, and organisational execution. Reforge offers free introductory access, while the complete experience requires Reforge access or membership. Availability can include on-demand material and live learning options, so learners should confirm the current delivery schedule on the course page.

The useful outcome is a joined-up strategic narrative. You should be better equipped to explain how a market change affects the customer problem, why that changes the product bet, what technical capabilities or constraints matter, and how the organisation must execute differently. That chain matters because weak AI strategies often jump from a technology trend straight to a feature list. AI Strategy asks you to make the intermediate choices visible. For leaders comparing whether to defend an existing position, redesign a core workflow, create a new product, or change the operating model, the course offers a practical structure for deciding where AI is strategically material and where it is simply noise.
